Came for the Shima Rin icon, stayed for the Lo-Fi :)

I'll be honest in that I haven't given Lo-Fi much of a chance, I always sorta grouped it in with weird aesthetic stuff like "x song played from a room down the hall".

So with that extensive background knowledge: I think this was the first full Lo-Fi track I've listened to end to end, and I liked it. There was definitely and ambient feel to the track, which had both clear and muted elements I found balanced out fairly well.

I don't feel the quick vocal line at 0:28 fit in with the rest of the track, as it sounded a bit like a tin robot and not quite in the same tone as the rest of the track.

I'm going to disagree with TL on the fade out, but honestly I don't know how else a track like this ends asides from softly.

Good work!

Thank you thank you thank you for your extremely detailed review.

I greatly appreciate your kind words and feedback :)

This was a really nice piano waltz. There was a point where a note at 0:48 trailed off for four seconds, and then there was a one second silence at 0:53. That part got my attention as I was looking away, and hit the trail note and silence and I looked up for a moment and thought "wait it can't be over yet". I think that would be my one suggestion to modify somehow, maybe cut out that tiny segment of silence. It would also be interesting to develop this further with a very light strings quartet accompaniment. Good work mate. (vote score rounded up, cause first vote)

LexRodent responds:

Glad you enjoyed this. I have to admit that brief silence feels a bit weird ; I'll extend those notes so it's just the 3rd quarter before the second part starts.
Having some background strings could be nice indeed.
I'll give it a try and see if I can come up with something nice.
Thanks for listening and your review.

Nice track, it has a good buildup with a bit of a breather in the middle. It's a bit surprising you made this in a day! I'm going to have to check out you other stuff for sure!

McGorilla42 responds:

Thanks for the comment :) A lot of the newer songs are my page have been re-mixed and are sounding much better! I plan to re-mix them (AGAIN) for a school assignment with real drums I've recorded, so I hope you'll enjoy listening to those when they're up :)

There's a few free recording softwares which let you do direct input (if able with your guitar). That aside, it sounds nice. I'm gonna take a stretch from your icon and header to guess this was inspired by Girls und Panzer. I think the Säkkijärven Polkka from that would also work pretty well to learn on. Keep it up!

Ryuko24 responds:

Thanks for commenting, i'll try to find a recording software so that my music doesn't sound like I recorded it with a potato, the other song I posted has even worse audio, it keeps randomly cutting out and it gets me really mad, but i'm just happy I finally posted something.

Nice preview, interesting mix of Arabic traditional and modern electronic. From about 0:20 onwards to the break at 0:57, everything seems to be in competition. You can still hear the elements of the track, but if feels like each is trying to drown the others out.

Uxvellda responds:

Yah. Aaand, I am tryin to mimic the style of Xtrullor and Au5. By th way, thanks for your comment!

Really nice blend of DnB and ambient styles! 3:07 to 3:27 didn't quite seems to mesh with the rest of the track, and I was trying to compare it to the art to see how it fit in. Overall, really nice track!

BeauXuan responds:

Thanks for your review, mate. I really was debating keeping that section because it did sound a bit out of place, I just kinda liked it in a way. That being said, thanks again for your words. :D

Nice orchestral track! It feels like a sunrise cresting over a river valley. I don't see why you'd scrap it, sounds like it would fit nicely into a longer composition.

SuperTonic64 responds:

Thanks Peregrinus!! :) It's not fitting into the current piece I'm working on, but I'll see if I can save it somehow or use it in a different piece. ^_^

Good pulsing beat in this one! It definitely has elements of the artwork in the piece, Oriental inspiration without being kitchy or overbearing.

XomuEDM responds:

Thanks for the feedback :)

I can't recall hearing an acoustic version of 1979, so this was a nice experience. You seemed to have a bit of trouble on the high notes, but I can't do better there so you have me beat. Acoustic guitar was nice and consistent. I didn't pick up on any glaring flubs. Good work!

TylerFromTexas responds:

Thanks for the review! Ah yes, my high notes are definitely not perfect, I can't seem to figure out how to make it better. All I could do is keep practicing until it sounds as close to the original as possible. Hopefully I'll get better in the future. :)

Nice track! Good mix of piano and various other elements.Has a nice good beat to it in the first half, definitely fitting the title. I like the buildup to the DnB section, which still stays true to the core theme.

PhantomWolves responds:

Thanks ^^

I want buns of steel but also buns of cinnamon.
