I think you nailed the McCree voice pretty well, hopefully someone will find you for an Overwatch animation.

I've noticed that all your submissions have the audio balanced to only come though the left side, and I'm kinda curious if that was by design?

Yeah mate! Yeah I fudged up recording and had it in stereo instead of mono. And I realized that I did this for almost every single submission thus far. I'm trying to post something every day and am still learning the nuances .Thanks for your feed back Peregrinus!

Followed here from the Open Mic Thread, and hoping to give some constructive feedback.

I liked the gruff character at 0:37-0:50, I have no suggestions for it as it was consistent and had good range and depth.

I'm less fond of the opening sequence's investigator with the mild lisp, as it feels less natural with the dropped letters on the words. "Let us just humour this..." has a lateral (wet) lisp which flows naturally, but then the character changes his style of speech to gain a weird inflection ("a-solutely cl-eh-shes") and frontal (TH) lisp. After listening to it a few times it seems like there is a take cut between "moment/simply put". That seems to be where the character's style of speech changes. Lisps are based on natural tongue position, so it's likely that someone would have one of the two styles of lisp but not both at the same time. I honestly only picked up on it because my son had a TH lisp for a while.

There was a little bit of pop/peaking with the sports announcer (hard F "feel that one", hard D and T on "downtown). I'd suggest maybe lowering the quality a bit in this section. I know that sounds weird. There is usually a bit more ambient noise in an announcer's booth of a stadium which competes for the microphone, and more so for an announcer who is ringside at a fight. It's a bit nit-picky, I know the intent is to show vocal talent more than overall production. Just a thought for future demos.

There's a really nice range of styles in this. I remember hearing Ocurp Omnis a little while back, so I'm glad that it's coming out with the rest of the album. I really want to hear more of solstine, the teaser is rude to cut off right as the violin starts :)

Also, I'm glad (and sad) to see that all the pre-order copies have sold out. Will there be a second run, or a place we can buy the full album for download?

I hope there will be a second run, I will ask ell (ARM's publicist) about this. If you're willing to wait until June -- the soundtrack will be streamable and purchasable via APOLLO, which basically allows this doujin stuff. Don't ask me why June though; its intakes for submissions seem to only take place in June and November, presumably to tie in with Comiket / M3 / the likes thereof.

I will admit to not expecting all copies to have sold out on the day, oof ;; If we're going for reprint -- and that's an *if* at this point -- it'll hopefully be for the Summer Comiket next year. So glad you enjoyed what you've heard so far!

EDIT 30 Jun: The album should be purchasable on Bandcamp now; I've included the link in place of the Isukado one!

I had to look up nerdcore, I admit shamelessly. I can definitely see how this fits into nerdcore, it's definitely a blend of hip hip and what could be fantasy elements.

Not really sure how to best describe what I'm poking at here: the three sections you can see on the waveform as being distinctly different, I know the drum line is important to the hip hop side of it but it may be interesting to subdue them a bit during those three lower sections. It may add a bit of a variance between the more traditional hip hop beat and what ends up being closer to medieval instrumental.

Still struggling for the concept: rap battle of hip hop vs medieval, each one takes a lead in sections as the song progresses until they come together for a climax. In one corner, Eminem. In the other corner, Prince Arthur's finest bards.

I see what you mean on your suggestion, it's not a bad idea at all. It will be a relatively simple modification that may give this piece a better feel.

That rap battle sounds like fun, specially if the bard sings using old English.

[Bully audition]

I hope the audition went well for you. It's pretty short and to the point, I might suggest adding a little variance in the tone to reflect the bully's superiority and inflated ego. In the "stop hitting yourself" section, in order to make it a bit less repetitive maybe a few fillers to it: "stop hitting yourself, huh, you like that, stop hitting yourself" as it gets a bit more intense since that section implies some physical action is going on.

I've moved this from Spoken Word to Voice Demo to better reflect the content, and to be a bit easier to find for prospective artists seeking VAs.

This is really nice. Really the only thing I could pull a half point for was that it was a bit quiet, although I was torn on it since it works quite well with the context of the poem. Good work!

aahw thank you ^^ and the quite between i didn't choose. i thought it was good but of course i am not an expert and eveyone has his own taste and speed of lissening to things. but i am glad you like it. the poem means alot to me especially because i made it for someone. i am glad you could enjoy it ^^

I suppose I can't redo my same comment from your other track. For this one, the range seems a bit better, I don't know if there was a difference in microphone positioning between this and Nature's Scorn. There's a pop at 0:53, which makes me think you might be using a headset mic. I have a similar issue with that, and really the only fix for that is using a pop shield and different microphone, which can be cost prohibitive.

You have some interesting poetry in you, I like it.

Thank you so much! I do need a pop shield. It's a Snowball Blue Microphone, not a headset. Maybe I'll put a sock over it. lol But my articulation is a little... you know.

B0UNC3 threatened to take hostages if I didn't leave a review, so here it is:

This song was my 2005. I had a bulky second-gen iPod loaded with music from Newgrounds (all 35 tracks it could hold).

This track was probably the most played on repeat song for at least 4 months, probably more. There were some others (now unpublished) but who cares about them. This is Paradise on E, the pinnacle of what cool music was in 2005. And you know what? It's still cool. This song is like a trippy music box you find in a rummage sale: you have no clue what made you find it, and the old lady wouldn't haggle. You got home, wound the music box up, and let it play. Two days later, you woke up in a puddle of your own fluids, five pounds skinnier, and with no memory of the previous 48 hours. But you do know you were happy...so you wind the music box up again.

Want to hear a secret? It's 2018, this song is on my phone. I played it via Bluetooth as I drove to work. That isn't even hyperbole, that actually came up today on shuffle.

So there you go, B0UNC3. Please don't hurt my family, they're innocent.
